Light years from Earth, a vast human spaceship hangs in orbit over a cloudy alien planet. The crew have been travelling in cryosleep for many years, looking for a habitable world to settle, and have at last located one with potential.
However, they’re not the only people to have arrived in this place. The TARDIS has landed on the planet’s surface. The Doctor, Steven and Vicki explore and quickly find themselves separated.
But it isn’t merely the hostile environment and rogue terraforming drones they’ll have to deal with. Something else is living on this world. Something deadly and waiting to consume.

Both Hartnell and Troughton were heavy smokers and very heavy drinkers. Do you honestly think I have not read a lot about these two men? I’m a huge Whovian…of course I know how they both died tragically of similar circumstances. They were heavy smokers and alcoholics.
I don’t really hate the Early Adventures! I just think the narration is unneeded, and that a lot of voice actors out there could and have done their voices better. It is simply silly to insist on using actors who stared in the original series!
The narration is pedantic, pretentious, and boring, and the stories are JUST boring! That is my objection! Big Finish didn’t use the original actors in Sapphire and Steel, and NOBODY noticed. I don’t remember Louise Jameson being in The Omega Factor, and it is a great series.

… while it was true that both drank they were not alcoholics by any means… neither died of alcolhoism….
although i pretty much would trade either one of them for never having to see another of your comment or uploads again….

Okay, TTROY, probably going a little too far now, mate. Much as I agree with you about Smythers, the hoping he dies thing is just making you look bad.
That said, Smythers, you’re setting yourself up to be disliked with these little reviews you keep leaving, and the comment about Bill Hartnell was not only incorrect but totally unnecessary. No one is forcing you to upload anything, and both of the uploads are already available elsewhere on here. If you don’t like something, don’t upload it. And don’t make comments that are likely to offend. Especially about well respected actors who have a lot of fans on here. You are coming across as a hugely self-important loser, which I’m starting to think is your intention now.

ALcoholism is a horrific disease that affects millions of people! Here is a direct quote from TADISwiki:
“Troughton’s health was never entirely robust. Stress, a heavy smoking habit (he quit smoking in the ’60s), a drinking problem — like William Hartnell, Troughton was a heavy drinker — and a heavy television and film workload did not help. His heavy smoking eventually led to an operation to remove one of his lungs (Who And Me, autobiography of Barry Letts). He refused to accept his doctor’s advice to live a more healthy lifestyle and to adopt a physical exercise regimen. He suffered two major heart attacks, one in 1978 and the other in 1984, which prevented him from working for several months. His doctor’s warnings were again ignored.”
Now, when one has their lung removed, that is not something minor!
I think alcoholism and smoking are horrific things! These two actors were ACTORS, not saints. I respect them greatly, especially Troughton.
But, I respect their acting skills. Not the life habits that helped kill them. They are ACTORS!

And, okay, my initial comment was a bit of a kneejerk. I admit it! I simply am driven insane by people who treat ACTORS like they are canonized saints. I also think you all are missing my point!
Jon Pertwee, who also is deceased, has been replaced with another talented voice actor, and the Third Doctor adventures are some of the best material out there on Big Finish.
The new First Doctor adventures are quite good, using another talented voice actor.
I guess I don’t understand why people lionize the first two Doctors. I think Big Finish is wasting money putting these out.
The November release was not previously available, either. I checked. I made it available PURELY because I want others to complete their collections, and paying $10 for something I won’t listen to is a small price to pay for all the great material that is shared on this site.
William Hartnell is not a saint: he was a flawed human being who smoked and drank way too much and it helped kill him. He was younger than Capaldi when he was the Doctor and looked like he was in his 70s.
I think Big Finish should stop the EA line and spend money on more creative ventures. Is that such a horrible thing?
I do enjoy provoking people like TROY. Mostly because of the complaints I GET ON ALL MY UPLOADS about my speed or my file quality or my encoding.
I spend over $100 on Big Finish products a month, all because I FEEL LIKE I should share with others as part of “file sharing”, even if I don’t like the material, I buy it anyway and share it!

Jodie Whitaker is the best Doctor since David Tennant. How dare you call her only a 6 out of 10! She’s not traditionally HOT in a MAXIM for Men way of judging such things, but she’s wicked smart and funny as hell, which I think is what matters much more.

I, personally, prefer the uploads that leave the individual tacks intact. I hate when everything is combined into one long single track that cannot be burned onto CD for easy listening in the car. It seams that Alex offers one version and for the most part Smythers offers the other. If in no other respect than that, you both are offering different uploads for different preferences. ANY personal comments and opinions, from either uploader, is immaterial.
