hey otherguest! Thats news to me. It’s listed as 0 seeds 70 leeches since 5 minutes from it’s upload to now. That’s not even why I posted, its a pattern I’ve noticed. I have three other audio books posted recently here still sitting with 0 seeds days later. Could be me? Is there something I don’t know, other things seem to do fine, so I assumed it was the uploaders not seeding to begin with… or maybe it’s like the other fake torrents on other sites that get uploaded by people using trackers to send settlement requests. If anyone knows… was curious

If you “guests” want to raise an issue about a torrent, do it at the forum. Comments here aren’t regularly monitored.
As for this torrent, if suspicious check out the uploader’s other torrents (click on his name). Wolfman has uploaded several large torrents recently. Some have had problems but not deliberate, I’m sure he’s genuine. Have patience especially for big torrents.
I wish he’d participate in the forum, but that’s his choice.
As for fake torrents, that’s paranoia. Never been seen here. Anyway, if you can’t download anything, then what could you be charged with? They’d give you some files if that’s what they wanted, and they would have a super seedbox to make sure to. “Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence”.

The impatience of some people…
It’s less than 24 hours after this was uploaded and there are dozens of seeders. Pretty impressive for a 24GB torrent.
It would have me taken a week at my upload speeds.

I have only downloaded one, Deadpool: Paws but it played fine with VLC, WMP popped up and said it didn’t recognize the m4b format, but said it may play anyway & it did.
It also played fine with QuickTime player & foobar2000.
Is there a particular one which won’t play for you?

Update: There’s 4 offline seeders now showing on my end and the d/l speed is .6 kb, and anything else d/l is normal, 1mb+ speed. There’s still three uploads from this week that are sitting with 0 seeds. So I’m not imagining this, and was merely asking since all these uploads have 0 comments, but that might be because people are talking in the forum.
@Gweilo Thanks for the pro tip. It’s not that I don’t have patience, especially with big torrents, it’s that I’ve never seen anyone upload a torrent that they themselves aren’t seeding. Maybe that’s common. Or maybe something is wrong on my end, I was curious either way. I haven’t come across this problem until recently. And it’s not paranoia. It’s happening all over the place. I’m sure people make mistakes/mislabel or upload wrong torrents sometimes, but it’s a known thing that Rightscorp and other outfits upload fake torrents, especially big ones so that you have to stay connected longer, and then farm the trackers for peoples IPs. There’s also outfits just farming the trackers in general, so be careful everyone!
@PrettyRandom I love all the bitchy comments about impatience just because I asked a question to see if this problem is just on my end or if this is happening in general. I’m not ungrateful, if the uploader was Dallas24 or any of the others I see regularly I wouldn’t have mentioned it and known it was a fluke, but thanks for trying to discourage legit future questions. If a seeder can’t seed their own torrent, why would they upload it? It’s a legit question. But I’m impatient, lol. Okay, right. I only waited till the same thing happened with four brand spanking new torrents over the course of 10 days with 0 seeds, so impatient. GTFO with that nonsense.

Update and Solution: Might not be happening for everyone clearly, but I d/l this one with magnet link and I just cleared that and re-downloaded the torrent file. Worked instantly. 22 seeds now showing, and it’s downloading.
Just thought I’d let everyone know since I’m probably not the only one who does the magnet link sometimes.

I have had problems Tixati and BitComit, so I am not seeding torrents made with thoose clients. But They all were at 6:00 Upload Ratio or higher and were nearly inactive on my end. I am now using Transmission QT and it is great for uploading. You can see this Creation Date: Tue, 30 Aug 2016 22:36:56 +0000 below the description. I am currently uploading this torrent at 500 kbps. and its upload ratio is 5:41.

I have been trying to download this with Transmission 2.92 since it was posted. After 1 day I was at 3.7%, and now after 4 days I am at 4.17%. I see 13 leechers and 0 seeders. I plan to try loading the torrent file instead of the magnetic link and will see how that works. I will update if it works.

OK. I removed the active file but kept the data file in my downloads folder, then connected to the download link and it read the info I had already downloaded. The new connection picked up 28 peers and began downloading at a very high speed (already at 12.75%) and saying it will complete the download in a little over 2 hours. I will keep the seed active until I am at 5.0 x what I download.
