Doctor Who - Marco Polo - The Original BBC Television Soundtrack (2003 BBC Audiobooks Ltd UK)
The first Doctor, William Hartnell, and his companions join the caravan of the legendary explorer Marco Polo in this seven-part lost story from the programme’s original 1964 series, with linking narration by William Russell.
‘A caravan that flies! Do you realise what that will mean to Khan?’
When the TARDIS breaks down on the Roof of the World, Central Asia in 1289, its occupants are met by the explorer Marco Polo. His mammoth undertaking is to cross the desert to Peking, and before long he has set his mind on presenting the TARDIS to the emperor Kublai Khan as a gift on his arrival. Unless they can persuade Polo otherwise, the Doctor and his companions will lose their only means to escape this moment in history.
However, Polo isn’t the only one with designs on the TARDIS. The warlord Tegana will go to any lengths to steal the magical blue box – lengths which endanger the lives of the whole travelling party as they are beset by drought, bandits, and the merciless desert. And when the Doctor finally meets Kublai Khan himself, the precious Ship in his only collateral in a high-stakes round of backgammon – and the Khan is a master of the game…
William Russell, who plays Ian in the story, narrates the soundtrack to this classic adventure which, long missing from the television archives, has itself gained legendary status as an example of Doctor Who at its finest. Hailing from the programme’s first season (1963-1964), it walso stars Jacqueline Hill, Carole Ann Ford, and Mark Eden as Marco Polo.

Dear lord there seriously needs to be a separate section for all of these Doctor Who audios. They are hardly science fiction. Not saying they’re good or bad there are just hundreds of them. Make a separate category for just Doctor Who please!

I don’t mean to be a smartarse Marcus, but if you look in the Category section on the top left section of this page, you’ll see that there IS a separate Doctor Who section!
This is where I put all my Doctor Who torrents.

Hey DuckPlumber, sorry if my comment sounded rude or disrespectful. That was not my intention. I do see that it is listed in the “Doctor Who” category but it is also listed in the Sci-Fi section and gets lumped in with the other genre. In my personal opinion I just can’t see it as Sci-Fi. I used to love the show but it is really just based on fantasy with elements that are misconstrued as Sci-Fi. If anything it is extremely Soft Sci-Fi as opposed to Hard Sci-Fi which is based on scientific facts we know now. Just my opinion, sorry if I offended. I appreciate all uploads no matter the category. Keep up the good work!
